Today, Jack 45 SA (“Jack 45”) announced the international launch of “Jack”, the mobile messaging platform designed to help users rediscover the pleasure and value of time.
Jack, available for both iOS and Android, allows users to send a message (video, photo, audio and/or text) to anyone – friends, family, colleagues, etc. – and specify precisely when the recipient will be able to read the message. While the message is delivered instantly, it remains locked until the specified delay has elapsed. The combination of instant notification and delayed delivery creates excitement (instant notification), expectation and emotion (waiting for the delivery) for the recipient. As an analogy, just think of how children react when seeing the gifts under the Christmas tree knowing that they have to wait before they can open them; the wait becomes as exciting as the gift itself!
“Jack is a new communication paradigm, designed to help people rediscover the pleasure of waiting. A message sent via Jack has a double impact on the recipient: first when recipients receive the message, and then later, when they get to open it”, says Jack Abrams, founder of Jack 45. “I created Jack because I wanted to find a way to communicate in a more personal and emotional way with my family and friends. I then realised that this mechanism is very powerful and can prove interesting in a lot of different situations, both personal and professional. I call this concept ‘Time is Emotion’ ”.
Whether used for casual, time-sensitive messages (e.g. birthdays, anniversaries, graduations), coaching communications (e.g. from the captain to the team, the mentor to the student), lifestyle reminders (e.g. reminder to exercise regularly, to continue not to smoke), or simply to recall happy memories (e.g. relive a stunning sunset), Jack provides a way “to say the right thing, to the right person, at the right time”.
Brands too can use Jack to communicate effectively with their customers about new product launches and events. “Studies have shown that people are much more likely to remember something if they had an emotional response to it.”, says Edwin Hermans, CTO of Jack 45. “A message sent via Jack occupies a spot in the most important media there is: the brain.”
Jack is available for download on the App Store https://itunes.apple.com/app/you-have-a-jack/id1019167559 and on Google Play https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jack45.jack. The Jack app is free of charge.
